WHO WE ARE

IP Advanced® was founded to service those who are routinely ignored by traditional law firms: individual inventors and smaller businesses. Through IP Advanced, we offer clients a better way to work with attorneys: one that tracks results instead of every minute spent getting you there.

Managing Principal

John has over 15 years of patent litigation, prosecution, and counseling experience. He has litigated on behalf of both patent owners and accused infringers, and before launching IP Advanced®, was Senior Litigation Counsel at a leading patent monetization company. John also spent ten years as an intellectual property attorney at the international law firms of White & Case and Greenberg Traurig.

John’s legal expertise covers many aspects of patent law. As a patent litigator, he has considerable experience before federal courts and the International Trade Commission, representing Fortune 500 high-tech, financial, and healthcare companies in matters involving Internet and mobile applications, operating systems, network communication protocols, relational databases, e-commerce and SSL/TLS encryption, real-time multimedia streaming, personal navigation devices, and medical instruments. As a patent prosecutor, John has worked with inventors to procure patents in the fields of satellite technology and automated manufacturing processes. In addition, he has performed due diligence analyses of patent portfolios in advance of product launches and acquisitions to assess market exclusivity, freedom to operate, and patent validity.

John has a broad and diverse technical background. After earning a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, he studied computer science and worked for five years as a software application developer at high-tech startups. As a result, John is skilled at translating complex technical issues into concepts that are understandable and compelling to courts, and highly effective at strategizing and collaborating with inventors and technical experts.

John received his J.D., cum laude, from Fordham University School of Law, and his B.S. from Cornell University. While at Fordham, John served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Victor Marrero in the Southern District of New York, and the Honorable William J. Martini in the District of New Jersey.
